Everytime I build my game the TNT Basic output log says: 'Error building applet:A file with that name already exists.'

And then it builds the game, but when you run it nothing happens.

Please post more information with your bug reports, build app obviously works for most people so it's something about your setup so:

What version of OS are you running?
What version of TB are you running? (Check that Hieroglyph is launch the latest version of TB if you have older ones installed).
Are you building from .rsrc files or .tbproj files?
Have you tried downloading a fresh copy of TB?
Are you trying to overwrite an existing file?
When did you last run a disk check?

Cheers,

Mark

Mac OS 10.2.8
TNT Basic 1.3
I am building a rsrc file
I have tried downloading a fresh copy of TNT Basic
I'm not overwriting a file (I've created a new folder and saved it in it)

Cheers for the info. Has anyone else had any trouble building apps from .rsrc files? Jacob, maybe you should run a disk first aid check?

Are you using any non letter characters? Have you tried using a different name for your app?

I'll do a disk check.
Al, I can't build anything I make.

I repaired my disk...

The repairer say that my disk is okay, but I still can't build anything.

Try the examples...

Have you tried to build something else? This will narrow it down to the program source or the engine. If the program runs under the interpreter there is theoretically no reason why it should fail after a stand alone build.

I've been in contact with Jacob and I've found out this is caused by a project using resource ids lower than 128 which can clash with resources in the TNT Basic application. By default Hieroglyph creates resource ids of 128 or higher, but you can manually rename them to be lower. TNT Basic now gives an informative error message if you try and build an app whose resources clash with its own.

This fix is in TB 1.31 which has just been released.

Cheers,

Mark
