after I (using an intel mac), updated to Mac OS X.4.10 , when ever I start Hieroglyph or tnt basic, it says something is wrong with music block and needs to shut down. I took the music block out, hieroglyph ran fine, but tntbasic wont run at all!!

Yikes! I'm not on intel yet (stop laughing) is 10.4.10 the only option for intel?

You could just (not update) the 10.4.8 or whatever when you install Mac OS X from your cd, though. What mac os x do you use?

I'm 10.4.10 PPC though - maybe it is a quicktime thing - at work we have had issues with recent upgrades of java and quicktime and some important 3rd party software.......

just a thought?

Well done Barry!

Well spotted mate, but just for the record - I'm running a Core Duo MacBook with 10.4.10 and QT 7.2, and TNT runs just fine... In fact hardware mode actually works!

Give the suggested fix a go and see if this solves the problem, if not could you post your hardware set up? If you're running a desktop setup I have a feeling I know what it might be, but I'm afraid it wont help you much...

Hopefully it wont be an issue for that long anyway.

Good Luck!

Danny (nod the mod)

Thanks Danny - I just bought an intel iMac - and my most important Apps (Indesign, Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc...) which are PPC apps (CS2) had some bizarre issues - like not launching! I re-installed the combo update and everything works fine for now.

cheers
