Hello

I have just start to learn TNT basic (Last time was in my Commodore Vic 20 ;-) so I have a very stupid question about Pong (and I guess more in the future)

What means:

float newx,newy,player1Speed,player2Speed

I can "see" float, but I don't understand newz,newy... Is is a new location for a new game, but since the prgram make an exact location for each player, it have no sense to me :P (yes very stupid, but I am a newbie newbie)

it could be nice to explain this line also on the tutorial..?

float is a type of varaible, like int or string. newx, newy and the others are variables. I think you should really read in the learning zone of TNT Basic.

http://www.tntbasic.com/learn/

Especially this one ( Introduction to programmation )
http://www.tntbasic.com/learn/help_frms/prog.php

And this one ( Introduction to graphics )
http://www.tntbasic.com/learn/help_frms/graphics.php

Hope this helps!

Thanks :-)

I have read the Learn program part concerning the variables before t o start, but there is no a clear definition about "newx" and "newy" I guess, it that trouble me because the "move player" use a lot of them

I understand "newx" or "newy" like "new direction by x", is it wrong?

And Sutpid I am it is not PONG but TRON :-/

Ok I finished the tutorial of Tron and understood the bases of the program, but there is something I cannot get in my poor brain, it is about the procedure collisions here :

if x1>x2 then xstep=-1
if y1>Y2 then ystep=-1

I don't see why X1 if more than x2 it should be -1 (for it look like the point go backward, if it is why?)

it is like +1-1 = 0, so collision? Help me to clear this :/

En français ce serait parfait :D
